We are one of the oldest Microsoft consulting and training consultancies local to the Orange County area. We are the only five-star rated Microsoft Certified Partner in our niche (Microsoft application support). We did not get to be who we are overnight. We have spent the past 23+ years working hard. We have spent over two decades being focused on exceeding our client’s expectations. It all started when Paul Delke founded the office in the heart of Orange County’s business district, Irvine California. That was 1994, that is still our focus today; exceeding local organizations expectations, one project at a time.
One of the things that sets Talon apart from all of the other firms across the country providing similar Microsoft services is that Talon focuses on local organizations, be they businesses, government agencies or educational institutions. Of all of those that we work with we pride ourselves most on our ability to work with all sorts of non-profits and governmental entities that help to make Orange County what it is. We live in and we work in Orange County, and we take pride in servicing organizations that make our city as wonderful as it is. That is why it is some of the most rewarding work. Over the past 23+ years we have worked with so many such organizations, from the YMCA, UCI, and the OCTA.
The OCTA helps people to get around Orange County. The OCTA hired us to help their staff get around in Microsoft Excel. Yeah, that is not our typical client, I mean they operate all of those buses you see around our city streets. But it is true, they hired us to provide local onsite training in Microsoft Excel. When they called we were amped, we were excited, this was a group we really wanted to work with, because the OCTA is Orange County, and we are focused on local. And what screams local more than the buses helping people without a ride to get around Orange County.
The objective was to teach a group of 15-20 employees basic Microsoft Excel skills. We were hired to provide the training onsite at their Orange County office. The students were from their HR department. We covered the basics, formulas and functions (VLOOKUPs, INDEX/MATCH), charting, if statements, etc. (You can see an example training agenda in this post). As usual, when we do Excel training we ask to use one or more of the client’s files, as such We used an OCTA spreadsheet as the example for our training.
That basically sums up the onsite Excel training we did for Orange County’s OCTA. If your organization is local to Orange County, and if you are looking for a local firm that offers exceptional service with a strong team of local consultants (programmers, application developers), and trainers that work in any and all of the Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Power BI system development, you have found your firm.
